Red Carpet Runway on The Early Show - 2/18/09

Some people like to watch celebrities walk the paparazzi gauntlet at award shows like Sunday night’s Academy Awards. Other people like to be the ones walking the red carpet.

For that latter group, a Connecticut-based company called Red Carpet Runway has come up with a customized red carpet and backdrop, which “anyone can create, design and order online.” They come in three packages ($199 to $1,200) for different sized corporate or private affairs, including, of course, award-show viewing parties. In a rush? Ready-made “Rug in a Bag” ($99) ordered before 2 p.m. EST ships the same day and can be delivered “as quickly as” customers require, company co-owner Bill Sidarweck says.
