In-Store: Clarins Launches Red Carpet Runways

Thursday, September 10th, 2009

Wednesday, September 09, 200

Luxury skincare brand Clarins just launched a six-month in-store program that offers complimentary make-up applications and photo shoots under a “celeb” experience. Consumers receive beauty tips, product samples, color touch-ups and can participate in a “celebrity moment” on a Clarins Red Carpet Runway that serves up a framed photo and VIP pass with beauty notes from the in-store beauty experts.

“We want to reach all customers,” Violet Lee, senior manager of retail development at Clarins, told Buzz. “Many people think of Clarins as skincare for the mature customer, but we’re really for everyone. Creating a fun and upbeat type of event will attract a younger consumer. We have products for them, too. The 10-foot red carpet and Clarins backdrop makes it feel like a celebrity award event.”

Events will take place at Nordstrom, Macy’s, Saks Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdale’s, Barneys and Lord & Taylor stores in major cities including Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Miami, New York, San Francisco and Seattle and Puerto Rico. Agency: Red Carpet Runway, New York City

The Party is ON in St. Louis for Memorial Day Weekend

Monday, May 26th, 2008

The words “There isn’t anything to do in St. Louis” are dead and probably won’t be resurrected anytime soon.
That statement was born out of a scarcity of regular special events, black-owned clubs and welcoming white-owned venues to provide a variety of nightlife options.

While there remains a scarcity of African American-owned nightclubs here, the reactionary emergence of party and special-event promoters continues to grow, sustaining vitality on St. Louis’ social scene.

The production and promotion of special events has been so pacifying to nightlife seekers that it has evolved into a viable business venture that has added to the livelihood of the promoters.

As with free enterprise, competition has entered the house of promoting parties, which can sometimes fall on the same date.

But this Memorial Day Weekend has brought four of St. Louis’ top party promoters together to produce three consecutive red carpet parties Friday, Saturday and Sunday at separate venues.

Bow Ties are Back

Thursday, May 8th, 2008

Lately, the bow tie has been crossing over from prom nights, James Bond flicks, and the red carpet into runway looks that are both practical and stylish.

Taking off from the American aristocrat motif is designer Tommy Hilfiger, who commented during his 2008 Fall fashion show: “I’m always interested in nautical preppy and the international sophisticate.” Bow ties and cardigans figured prominently in his runway designs.
